Many of these strategies simply involve changing our lifestyles to how our parents or grandparents used to do things.  Over the years we have all come to depend more and more on machines to do things faster and more conveniently.  Line drying your clothes is free, in fact it will save energy and wear and tear on your dryer, but it takes some time and a little planning around the weather.  However, clothes hung on a line tend to have fewer wrinkles and hems don’t tend to roll either.  In colder months, clothes can be hung indoors and this has the added benefit of humidifying the air.
